On Christmas Eve, December 24, His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos of New Jersey celebrated the Orthros and the Divine Liturgy for the Nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the Metropolitan Cathedral of St. John the Theologian in Tenafly, NJ.
Concelebrating with His Eminence were the cathedral’s Dean, Fr. Panayioti Lekkas, and Metropolis Chancellor Fr. Gregory Gilbert.

In his homily for the feast, Metropolitan Apostolos invited the faithful to give thanks to God for the blessings in their lives and for the privilege of being present at the liturgy. He urged all to keep in their prayers those in hospitals, nursing homes, and anyone who must spend the holiday alone.
At the conclusion of the service, Fr. Lekkas expressed gratitude to His Eminence for celebrating with the community and extended warm Christmas wishes.
Following the liturgy, Metropolitan Apostolos led the congregation in the singing of the traditional Kalanta.
