New Permanent Representative of Greece to UN Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Greece to the United Nations, Aglaia Balta, presented her credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres on August 25. 

Ambassador Aglaia (‘Agi’) Balta is succeeding Ambassador Evangelos Sekeris. Until recently, she was Greece’s Ambassador to Spain.

She served as the Consul General of Greece in New York from 2007 to 2011.

Aglaia Balta is married to Ambassador (ret.) Dimitri Alexandrakis.  They have one son, Menelaos.
