Open Call for Photo Submissions for “Hellenic Footprints” in the Midwest

CHICAGO –

On the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the United States, the Consulate General of Greece in Chicago, in cooperation with the Hellenic Museum of Michigan, has announced an open call for photographic submissions entitled: “Hellenic Footprints: Greek Presence in the Midwest.”

This initiative invites submissions that reflect the historical presence, cultural contributions and contemporary expressions of the Greek-American experience in the Midwest.

Eligibility of photographs

Submitted photographs must be taken within the Consulate’s jurisdiction, which includes the following 12 states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Participation is open to all Greek-Americans.

Presentation and exhibition

Selected photographs will be featured in a curated video presentation and exhibited at the Hellenic Museum of Michigan in the context of the U.S. 250th anniversary commemorations.

The deadline for submissions is April 20, 2026.
