The Orthodox Faith Sunday School (OFSS) at St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, has begun the 2026–2027 ecclesiastical year with enthusiasm, welcoming 139 registered students from toddlers through high school seniors.

Under the leadership of OFSS Director Varah Kappatos, the ministry continues its mission of nurturing Orthodox Christian faith, strengthening family connections, and encouraging young people to participate actively in the life of the Church. This year, students from Kindergarten through 12th grade are benefiting from a new religious education curriculum provided by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

Rev. Protopresbyter Georgios Oikonomou, Presiding Priest of St. Thomas, continues to emphasize the importance of religious education, regular participation in the Divine Liturgy, and putting Christian faith into practice through acts of love and service.

This commitment was recently demonstrated through the participation of St. Thomas youth in the FOCUS ministry, where young volunteers helped provide meals to individuals experiencing homelessness and others in need. Their service offered a meaningful example of Christian compassion and reminded the community that faith is expressed not only through learning and prayer but also through caring for our neighbors.

St. Thomas expresses heartfelt gratitude to its dedicated catechists, assistants, volunteers, and families whose commitment makes this growing ministry possible. With faith, fellowship, and service at its heart, the Orthodox Faith Sunday School looks forward to another blessed and fruitful year.
