CHERRY HILL, NJ –

The annual Vasilopita celebration of Saint Thomas was held January 14 immediately after the Sunday worship services. The pieces of the Vasilopita were distributed to the president and members of the Parish Council, to Cherry Hill Mayor David Fleisher and his wife Jennifer, Pennsauken Mayor Marco DiBattista and his wife Nitsa, who are members of the community, the parish organizations and then the entire congregation. The ladies of the St. Irene Philoptochos sponsored the annual cutting of the vasilopita. It is customary that a special contribution is made on this day and will be sent to the St. Basil Academy in Garrison, NY.
