“The Sounds of Christmas” by the Archdiocesan Cathedral Choir, Dec. 19

NEW YORK, NY – GNUSA

The renowned Archdiocesan Cathedral Choir, Youth Choir, and Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Costas Tsourakis, will present the 49th Annual Cathedral Christmas Concert, “The Sounds of Christmas,” on December 19 at 7:30 p.m.

Held under the high patronage of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, who will be in attendance, this highly anticipated concert opens the 2025–2026 season of Great Music under a Byzantine Dome. A cherished tradition, the program features Orthodox hymns, Greek carols, and beloved seasonal classics, bringing together voices and instruments in a festive celebration of faith, heritage, and holiday spirit.

As in past years, the evening will conclude with a joyful sing‑along, inviting all attendees to join in. A candlelight reception, The Flavors of Christmas, will follow in the Chiotes Family Cathedral Hall.

The annual Christmas Concert at Holy Trinity Cathedral has become a staple in the New York’s holiday music scene, continuing a tradition that began in 1976 under the late Maestro Dr. Dino Anagnost.

For those unable to attend in person, a virtual version of “The Sounds of Christmas” will premiere on December 24 and remain available through December 31
