CineΕλλάδα Returns with “A Touch of Spice” Screening on March 17

CHICAGO – GNUSA

The Consulate General of Greece in Chicago, in cooperation with the Hellenic Film Society USA, the Pickwick Theater and the Hellenic Foundation, presents another screening in the monthly CineΕλλάδα series.

This month’s film is “A Touch of Spice” (Politiki Kouzina), directed by Tassos Boulmetis and starring Georges Corraface as the adult Fanis Iakovides.

The movie tells the story of Fanis, a Greek boy raised in Istanbul by his grandfather, who teaches him about life through cooking and spices. When political tensions force his family to move to Athens, Fanis grows up feeling displaced and separated from his grandfather and childhood love, Saime. As an adult, he returns to Istanbul to reconnect with his past.

It is one of the most beloved modern Greek films, telling a moving story about family, memory, and the power of food to bring people together.

CineΕλλάδα is a cultural initiative of the Consulate General of Greece in Chicago and Consul General Emanuel Koubarakis dedicated to celebrating the richness and creativity of contemporary Greek cinema.

The screening will take place on March 17th at 7:00 PM, at the Pickwick Theater in Park Ridge, IL. Admission is free, but registration is required: https://cineEllada.eventbrite.com
