SAN FRANCISCO, CA-
The United Hellenic American Societies (UHAS) has announced that due to weather forecast for rain, the Greek Independence Day Celebration at Union Square in San Francisco that was set for March 24 is now postponed to Sunday, April 14 from 12 noon – 5 pm.
The event includes live Greek music by George Mylordos and Kymata Band, Greek dance group performances by dancers in authentic costumes, poems, songs and stories honoring Greece’s 1821 heroes and their fight for freedom.
At 2pm the Greek flag will be raised at the top of Westin St. Francis hotel and the Greek National Anthem will be sung.
The event is free and open to the public.
